By the time the White Sox' D'Angelo Jimenez swatted his single in the ninth in-ning Saturday to beat the Cubs 7-6 at U.S. Cellular Field, some major stage-setting al-ready had occurred.

Specifically, Sox center fielder Aaron Rowand had belted a two- run home run with two outs in the eighth inning to tie the score 6- 6.

Take that tater away, and Jimenez's winning hit wouldn't have been a winning hit.

Everybody started jumping," Jimenez said of Rowand's smash, because we tied the game."

And a tie means the home team has the advantage. And lately for the White Sox, that means they're going to win.
