Red Sox 5, White Sox 4
David Ortiz, who did not fit into the Minnesota Twins' plans this
season, did his part to help his old team.
Ortiz hit two home runs Wednesday, including the game-winner in
the 10th inning to give the Boston Red Sox a 5-4 victory over the
White Sox, who fell into a first-place tie with the Twins in the
American League Central.
The Sox had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the ninth,
but pinch runner Aaron Rowand was thrown out at the plate trying to
score from first base on a double by Magglio Ordonez with one out.
Ortiz delivered his fifth multi-home run game this season and
seventh of his career. He also matched a career high with four RBI.
