Article: Koch put on disabled list with inflammation in right elbow

ANAHEIM, Calif.--The third time was the charm for the White Sox, who put Billy Koch on the disabled list after Tuesday's game with inflammation in his right elbow.

Manager Jerry Manuel admitted Wednesday that two previous times this season Koch was unavailable for short periods because of elbow soreness. When the situation came up again Tuesday, the Sox went the disabled-list route and recalled Jon Adkins from Class AAA Charlotte.

It is the first time Koch has been on the disabled list in his major-league career. He was on the DL in 1997 at Class A during his first professional season with a sore elbow that eventually required surgery.
