Article: Sore hip sends A's Mulder to 15-day disabled list

The Oakland Athletics put left-hander Mark Mulder on the 15-day disabled list Thursday because of tendinitis in his right hip. The move is retroactive to Wednesday, which means he can come off the disabled list Sept. 4.

Mulder left his start Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox after only two innings. He traveled the next day to Arizona to see a physical therapist, the same person who saw him through his back problems a few years ago.

Mulder's injury is not considered serious, and he is not expected to miss more than the time that he is on the disabled list, A's spokesman Mike Selleck said.
