Article: Bowling balls can add a striking element to your garden setting

While conjuring up new ideas for the new season of Weekend Gardening on the Do It Yourself Network, I became rather preoccupied with bowling balls. Weird, huh? I've seen them used in a most appealing garden setting. Unlike glare-producing gazing balls with their unforgiving fragility, bowling balls are next to cannon balls in their resistance to damage and weathering.

So your dedicated host and companion have been on a bowling ball safari at local thrift stores.

I was floored to discover there were no more bowling balls! One clerk explained that someone had come in the week before and bought every one of them. "For the garden," she said, so I guess it wasn't a new idea after all.
