They can't go out and party, but they don't want to stay in.
Teens in Southwest Virginia don't have many celebration options
for New Year's Eve, so they're creating their own -- from homemade
parties to a midnight 5K run.
"New Year's is more of a party holiday than a family or religious
holiday," said Blaine Davis, a William Byrd High School senior.
"It's more about saying goodbye to one year and saying hello to a
new change. And having a lot of fun is a great way to start a new
year."
This year, Davis gets to be a part of the fun. He's the bassist
for Madrone, a metal band that's performing Dec. 31 at Turn One in
Wytheville.
