It appears New Year's Day rolled in relatively safely on tri-
state area highways.
Before and after the ball dropped in New York, only one major
crash resulting in a rollover was reported by tri-state law
enforcement.
Few citations for operating while intoxicated were issued during
New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
According to the Grant County Sheriff's Department, a snow drift
was responsible for a rollover of a car driven by Samantha Jung, 18,
of Bloomington, Wis., on Wisconsin 35 near the Patch Grove Township,
Wis. Jung was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, the sheriff's
department said.
Dubuque County Sheriff Ken Runde said quieter highways have
