his chair. What he had just been told did not sound right. "Really?"
he asked.
Glennon, the Virginia Tech quarterback, had been informed of the
record of Atlantic Coast Conference teams in Bowl Championship
Series games. It took a moment for him to register the bleakness:
Since the advent of the BCS, the ACC is 1-8 in college football's
most significant postseason games.
"Now that I know that," Glennon said, "it means a lot."
No. 5 Virginia Tech (11-2) will be playing not only to capture
