not consider registering to become a potential bone marrow
transplant donor? This week, let's look at what this involves.
For many patients with leukaemia, lymphoma or other life-
threatening diseases, a bone marrow transplant may be the only hope
of a cure.
So, what is bone marrow?
It's a spongy material found in the hollow centre of large bones
(particularly the pelvic bones).
It is vital as it contains stem cells which are blood cells in
the very earliest stages of development.
