We've heard a lot about how the Iowa caucuses are more important
than ever to the selection process for presidential candidates.
Certainly this time around, Iowans have been bombarded to an
unprecedented degree with ads, rallies, polls, countless endorsement
phone calls interrupting dinner times -- thanks in large part to a
deep field of candidates. Yet if you've spent any time following the
situation, you've seen or read about numbers of Iowans reliably
showing up for town meeting sessions, asking pertinent questions of
the candidates, and graciously tolerating a relentless media
presence for many months.
There are those who think the Iowa caucuses play too big a role
