Article: Bucs' Duffy eager to regain form

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Chris Duffy remembers standing in center field last summer during an instructional league game, praying no one would hit the ball to him.

Duffy believes those days are behind him, because he is finally pain-free after recovering from an ankle injury and undergoing shoulder surgery.

This week, he is back at Pirate City for the team's four-day minicamp, still recovering from the surgery. Although he has not been cleared to throw or swing a bat, Duffy expects to be back to full speed by April.

Wednesday, Pirates general manager Neal Huntington dismissed reports that suggested Duffy would sit out spring training because of the surgery.
