Brigadier Andrew Parker-Bowles will be at the Barbury Castle meeting in Wiltshire this weekend to receive a cheque for pounds52,936 on behalf of Retraining of Racehorses (RoR).

As chairman of the charity, Brig Parker Bowles has a keen interest in the welfare of thoroughbred horses once they finish their racing career on the track.

RoR was first launched by the British Horseracing Board in April 2000 and has raised the money by a levy on race organisers' fixture application fees and the owners' hunter certificate, which they need before their horses may compete in point-to-point races.
