Article: GPS units on thieves' wish list; Numerous cars have been broken into

Portable GPS units flew off store shelves and into people's cars this Christmas season, and now they are flying into the hands of thieves who see easy pickings stuck to the windshield.

"The hot item for Christmas has now become the must-have for Grinch-like thieves, who are not afraid to break your car window to get at their target," New Berlin police Lt. Mike Glider said.

Ask Heather Stair, who parked her car under a light at a restaurant in a nice area of New Berlin when a thief smashed her car window and took off with her global positioning system unit.
