Article: MySpace, states reach pact on predator shields

MySpace.com, a social networking Web site popular among teens and young adults, has agreed to security measures aimed at preventing sexual predators from preying on kids.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett said Monday that MySpace will allow parents to block their children from creating accounts, sever links between MySpace accounts and pornography sites, and create a private "high school section" for users younger than 18.

The agreement was reached with attorneys general in every state and the District of Columbia.

Pittsburgh police said sexual predators regularly use the Web site to troll for underage victims, in Pittsburgh and throughout the country.
