The Daily Mail's Neediest Cases Appeal closed out the 2007
fundraising effort with an impressive $130,201.80 raised.
The appeal has been topping the $100,000 mark since 1987 and has
raised as much as $140,000, the mark it achieved in 2006.
Most impressive is the overall total raised by the campaign since
it began in 1961. From that first year, when the campaign raised
$5,570.01, the Neediest Cases Appeal has raised a total of $3.42
million.
Thanks to generous Daily Mail readers, the fund already has
helped the cases published in the paper each day from Thanksgiving
to Christmas Eve.
Remaining funds now will be divided among more than 450 other
cases submitted by social workers in West ...
