ASTON Villa owner Randy Lerner has shot into the Premier League of the Midlands' super-rich - less than 18 months after the pounds 62.6 million takeover deal.

The Villa Park supremo is the most high-profile new entrant into the realms of the region's elite rich, revealed in today's Birmingham Post.

Lerner, aged 45, is worth pounds 800 million, ensuring him fifth spot in the 2008 Rich List.

The US tycoon, who also owns American football team the Cleveland Browns, made his fortune from his Securities Advisors Inc investment empire, which he owned and managed until 2001.
