BRAINTREE - Carmen Mariano is home again. And it was Cardinal Sean O'Malley, Boston's Roman Catholic archbishop, who was on hand to welcome him.

Cardinal O'Malley celebrated Mass at Archbishop Williams High School on Wednesday as part of inauguration ceremonies installing Mariano as the first president in the school's 58-year history.

Mariano, a 1964 Archbishop Williams graduate, was a longtime administrator with Quincy's public schools before being named president of the coeducational Catholic school last summer.
