Article: Officer Elvis hits Strip District beat in stride

Elvis has quite a following in the Strip District.

It's been fewer than two weeks since his commander assigned him to walk the business district eight hours a day. Yet shopkeepers and workers wave to Officer Elvis Duratovic -- who graduated from the Pittsburgh police academy in November -- and call out his name as he passes through.

"It is so great to have an officer here who we see every day, because we need that," said David Sunseri, co-owner of the 106-year- old Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. "The Strip is a place tourists come to and people visit with their families and spend all day. It needs to be safe."
