THE tricky question of what to do with the New Wing of Somerset
House continues to worry the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
So much so that it's thought the final decision will now be taken by
the Prime Minister, rather than by Culture Secretary James Purnell.
Now a new name has emerged to sort out the dilemma. Step forward
New Labour cheerleader Lord Hollick, former boss of Meridian
Broadcasting and proprietor of the Daily Express, who has been
drafted in to compile a report.
Clive Hollick is not known for his diplomatic skills. As Chairman
of the South Bank Centre, he once threatened to close the much-
loved London Eye by raising the rent, so there is widespread concern
