Fish cakes made in Nelson by a company owned by Sealord Group are
being recalled after consumers noticed plastic fragments in them.
Fifeshire Fishing is recalling about 1500 packs of Captain's
Choice Fish Cakes.
The recall applies to packs with a "best before'' date of August
29, 2008, with the time code 0600 to 0700.
Sealord's general manager of sales and marketing operations in
New Zealand, Philip Knight, said the recalled fish cakes, which had
a shelf life of one year, were made at Sealord's Vickerman St plant
on August 29. Plastic got into the product within the first 15
minutes of production.
Five consumers had recently complained that they had noticed
fingernail-sized plastic ...
