A torbay Council employee, whose son was expelled from school,
told an employment tribunal that he had no faith left in the council
after it admitted failings in his son's education.
Kevin Hooks, from Paignton, lost his case for unfair dismissal
against Torbay Council at yesterday's hearing.
The former housing surveyor had told the tribunal in Exeter that
he was signed off with stress-related illness after an Ombudsman
found that the council was slow in finding his son, Robert, a new
school after he was expelled from Churston Grammar School in 2004,
then aged 15, and it also failed to provide enough home tuition.
Mr Hooks had told the day-long hearing that the mass media
