Indonesian President Susilo asks military not be dictated by arms
suppliers
JAKARTA, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang
Yudhoyono asked the country's armed forces not to be dictated by
armament suppliers in determining the scale of priority for its
military equipment, despite limited budget.
The president made the statement in front of military officers at
the headquarters in East Jakarta.
"The TNI (armed forces) must reject to be dictated by its arms
dealers. Instead, it is the TNI that should dictate them," said
President Susilo.
