Do you think we're spoilt here in the West Country? Do we really
need to go abroad to find almost guaranteed warm sunny weather and
enjoy trips to the beach?
I say this to the children as I remind them that we don't go on
holiday for the weather; we live in Somerset, we'll have good
weather when we get home.
As I peered at the gathering grey clouds as we drove the 75 miles
from Somerset to Poole harbour to board our ferry to Brittany, I
resolved that our holiday would be a cultural trip to enjoy the
delights, sights and sounds of Brittany. Beaches we also have at
home.
