An 18-year-old Nelson chef has received a firearms conviction after shooting a girl with an air pistol.

Kristin Robert Geen , appeared in the Nelson District Court yesterday and admitted one charge of discharging a BB gun without reasonable cause and in a manner likely to endanger the safety of three people.

Police prosecutor Senior Sergeant Tony Bowen said that on September 10 Geen was a back-seat passenger in a car travelling on Waimea Rd and was carrying an air pistol with BB pellets and an accurate range of 25m.
