Article: Carnival Cruise Lines plans upgrade of Fantasy ship

Carnival Cruise Lines' Fantasy, a 2,052-passenger ship that cruises to the western Caribbean from New Orleans, will undergo a refurbishment in the fall, Carnival said.

Plans call for adding a new aqua park featuring a 300-foot-long water slide, along with an exclusive adults-only area and a redesigned resort-style main pool.

The "extreme makeover," Carnival said, represents the second phase of "Evolutions of Fun," Carnival's $250-million ship refurbishment program for the line's eight 70,000-ton Fantasy-class vessels.
