The John Edwards campaign is a crusade for social justice and
universal health care. A former trial lawyer, Edwards knows how to
use personal stories to dramatize what he sees as corporate greed
and insensitivity.
Two days before the New Hampshire primary, Edwards welcomed the
support of the parents of Nataline Sarkisyan - a California teenager
who died after her health insurance company initially denied her
coverage for a liver transplant. For Edwards, the case was a
dramatic point in his effort to take on drug and insurance companies
he says "are destroying the middle class."
