Herbert wrong about military
Re "When will candidates take stand against misogyny?," Jan. 16:
In suggesting that misogyny is a worthy topic for discussion among
the presidential candidates, Bob Herbert alleges that sexual
mistreatment of women is widespread in the military and that the
military culture tends to protect the attacker.
As a retired judge advocate, I know firsthand that the Air Force
vigorously prosecutes all sexual assault cases, often pursuing ones
that would never see the light of day in a civilian court.
In 2003, the Air Force implemented significant changes following
