EP president welcomes ratification of Lisbon Treaty in Slovenia,
Malta
BRUSSELS, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- President of the European
Parliament Hans-Gert Poettering welcomed here on Wednesday the
ratification of the Lisbon Treaty by the parliaments on Slovenia and
Malta.
"The early ratification of the Lisbon Treaty in Slovenia, the
country holding the Presidency of the Union, is an encouraging
signal of the importance with which member states are treating
theratification process and clearly illustrates their willingness to
swiftly go forward with it," he said in a statement.
