When Heddwig the Airedale goes for a walk in Lincoln Park, she
never lacks for canine companions.
That's because Heddwig lives in ZIP code 60657 in the Lake View
neighborhood, which has more dogs per square mile -- 944 -- than any
other ZIP code in Cook County.
The same ZIP code also hosts the largest number of cats per square
mile -- 906 -- according to records kept by the Cook County
Department of Animal Control.
In the suburbs, the aptly named (if not exactly appropriately
spelled) Kenilworth has the highest ratio of dogs to people -- 9.4
per 100 -- of any municipality in Cook County, even though,
