France to expedite pardon requests to Chadian president

PARIS, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- France will formally request Chad to pardon the six humanitarian workers, who are serving prison sentences in connection with a child trafficking scandal in Chad, France's secretary of state for human rights Rama Yade said Friday.

"Today (Friday) the foreign ministry is set to transmit the pardon requests to Chadian President Idriss Deby Itno," said the secretary of state for human rights, while speaking on France's RTL radio.
