Article: James Robinson in Pounds 13m switch to India group

A COMPANY which specialises in making photographic chemicals, hair dyes and dyes used in lenses for sunglasses has been acquired by an Indian rival in a deal worth more than Pounds 13m.

Huddersfield-based James Robinson, which can trace its roots back to 1840, will pass to Vivimed Labs of Hyderabad.

James Robinson had been owned for the last ten years by Yule Catto, an international producer of speciality chemicals.

Vivimed Labs is a specialty chemicals manufacturer and an established player in the personal care and cosmetics industry.
