Logan International Airport in Boston was one of seven airports
nationwide selected to participate in the Transportation Security
Administration's pilot program that steps up screening of airport
employees, the TSA said yesterday.
Details of the 90-day program, which will begin in May, are still
being worked out, but will require 100 percent of the thousands of
airline crew members, concession workers, and other badged airport
employees to be screened before they enter secured areas at Logan.
Currently, some airport employees encounter random screenings by
the TSA, airport authorities, and state troopers in various areas of
the airport away from passenger screening checkpoints.
