CORNER BROOK, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(Marketwire - Feb. 14,
2008) - On behalf of the Honourable Josee Verner, Minister of
Canadian Heritage, Status of Women and Official Languages, the
Honourable Loyola Hearn, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and Member
of Parliament (St. John's South-Mount Pearl), today announced
funding for the Corner Brook Winter Carnival.
Funding of $3,500 will assist the Corner Brook Winter Carnival in
covering the costs of local artist performances at the opening and
closing ceremonies. This community festival celebrates winter,
fosters community spirit and pride, and supports economic
