WINFIELD - Emily Blevins' game-winning basket from one knee was
the answer to Summers County prayers.
That led the Class AA No. 2 ranked Bobcats (19-2) to a 63-57
upset win over No. 1 ranked Winfield in girls high school basketball
action here Tuesday night in front of an enthusiastic crowd of 600.
The victory avenged a 76-72 overtime loss to the Generals last
month at Summers County.
"It was nice to redeem ourselves," said Bobcats' All-State post
player, Jolysa Brown.
In a well-hyped battle of candidates for state "Player of the
Year" honors, the 6-foot-1 Brown paced all scorers with 28 points
and pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.
