Look, over there, at the Democratic National Convention! They can
do anything. They can go anywhere. They're ... Super Delegates!
Democrats have 796 of them, and if the race for the White House
remains as close as it is now between Sens. Hillary Clinton and
Barack Obama, these "super delegates" - elected officials and party
members who can back any candidate - could decide the next nominee.
So while they may not be able to leap tall buildings in a single
bound, analysts note that super delegates count for 20percent of the
vote at the Democratic National Convention - making their powers
substantial.
