A Widow has paid tribute to her "friendly, loving and gentle" husband.

David Barrow, who was the landlord of York House in London House, Gloucester, between 1990 and 1999, died on January 29, aged 77, after a six-month battle with ill health.

Jenny, 55, of Barnwood, said her "wonderful husband" would be greatly missed by all who knew him.

"David was a fantastic man who everybody loved and respected," she said. "I have been inundated with so many cards and flowers from well wishers.

"I wonder if David had any idea just how popular he was."
