Delta Air Lines flight attendants submitted requests Thursday to
the federal government for an election to unionize.
The National Mediation Board could hold elections in 60-90 days,
after verifying that enough flight attendants have signed cards
requesting union representation. An election would be held among all
of Delta's 12,000 flight attendants.
"Today, a solid majority of Delta flight attendants have signed
cards," the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (Communication
Workers of America) said in a statement Thursday. The statement did
not say how many cards were submitted.
