Mikheil Saakashvili is President of State, Republic of Georgia. President Saakashvili made this presentation on February 9th, 2008, to the 44th Munich Conference on Security Policy.

I thought I would take a few minutes to reflect on the conditions needed for stability not only in southeastern Europe, but in the Black Sea region, the Caucasus and beyond.

In particular, I want to focus on the role of the international community, and especially of the Euro-Atlantic alliance.
