Indonesia to cut corporate tax to 25 pct

JAKARTA, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government and the House of Representatives are discussing a plan to cut corporate income tax to 25 percent in an amendment of the income tax law, local press said Thursday.

The move is aimed at luring investment by the private sector.

"The House has agreed to set corporate income tax to a single rate of 25 percent, lower than our earlier proposal of 28 percent," Sumihar Petrus Tambunan, a senior official with the Directorate General of Taxation, was quoted by The Jakarta Post newspaper as saying.
