Article: Zazzle proves engaging site

I SPENT SOME TIME playing around at Zazzle.com this week, experimenting with the online retail site's technology for designing customized products.

The results were intriguing, but a bit wonky, too.

Some of the options had powerful appeal for me as a consumer. I didn't go all the way through the process of finalizing any designs and placing orders, but it appeared very easy to create items that would be unique and -- depending on their quality -- prized possessions. Uploading a photo that I could convert into a canvas print seemed to be a breeze. And putting a phrase with personal meaning on a sweatshirt also went smoothly.
