U.N.-stoppable . . .
Sneed hears Rich Williamson, the pride of Kenilworth, is on the
short list to become our nation's next U.N. ambassador.
Williamson, the former head of the state Republican Party and an
unsuccessful candidate for the U.S. Senate, has been a loyal deputy
to U.N. Ambassador John Negroponte -- who has just been named the new
U.S. ambassador to Iraq.
President Bush now needs to find a replacement for Negroponte, and
big GOP fingers are pointing to Williamson.
Williamson, who has served in top positions under several
Republican presidents including Ronald Reagan -- who appointed him to
an ambassadorship to Austria -- is considered one of the best and
brightest administration ...
