WOOSTER -- He advocates a plant-based diet, warns you to stay away from dairy products and oils -- even olive oil -- encourages you to exercise and take cholesterol-lowering medication.

Those who follow this plan will prevent heart disease or keep it from progressing, Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr. told a group who gathered at McGaw Chapel on the campus of The College of Wooster on Tuesday. It was the first of four free lectures in a wellness series sponsored by the college, the Cleveland Clinic Wooster and Buehler's Fresh Foods.
