A 63-year-old man sexually abused a young girl after showering
her with expensive gifts, a court heard.
Dennis Prowse, from Penzance, groomed the girl by spending
thousands of pounds on her, it is alleged.
Prowse denies three counts of sexual abuse against the girl when
she was between ten and 12 years old.
Prosecutor Andrew MacFarlane said the girl was naive and
unworldly and at school had paid no attention to sex education
lessons.
Giving evidence at Truro Crown Court yesterday, the mother of the
alleged victim listed the major presents she could remember Prowse
having given her daughter.
They included a bouncy castle, a guinea pig hutch and run, an
