Article: Terminal cancer treatment in focus

Holyrood's public petitions committee is to conduct a "short inquiry" into the treatment of people suffering from terminal cancer.

It decided to act in response to a petition from Mike Gray, 53, of Drybridge, Buckie, calling for equal treatment for all those suffering from the disease.

Last month the committee heard how Mr Gray, who has terminal liver cancer, had been forced to pay nearly pounds3,400 every fortnight for a life-saving treatment because the health board refused to fund the medication.
