Article: Kraft signs marketing deal with South Beach Diet guru

Kraft is going to the beach.

Northfield-based Kraft Foods Inc. will soon sell products bearing the trademark of the South Beach Diet, a popular weight-loss regimen based on cutting carbohydrates, the company said Wednesday.

"It's a smart idea," said George Rosenbaum, chairman of the market research firm Leo J. Shapiro and Associates. "That imprimatur is going to help them command shelf space immediately, because the South Beach is quite popular."
