MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Overcoming the first negative ad of the
campaign and capturing voters who traditionally have gone to rival
Hillary Rodham Clinton, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama won Wisconsin's
Democratic primary Tuesday for his ninth victory in a row.
Wisconsin wasn't expected to be a pivotal state in the nomination
process, coming two weeks after Super Tuesday, but it could prove to
be a key win for Obama as he increases his lead in delegates over
Clinton and continues to hold the momentum.
Sen. John McCain soundly beat back a spirited effort from long-
shot candidate Mike Huckabee to win the Republican primary.
With 75 percent of precincts reporting, McCain had 166,183 votes,
