Huntington's Champion reports 1Q flat profit

HUNTINGTON - A strong 15.3 percent increase in sales didn't translate into higher profits for office furniture and printing company Champion Industries in the first quarter.

Financial results released Wednesday show Champion earned $1.27 million, or 13 cents per share, in the three months ended Jan. 31. Champion earned $1.26 million, or 13 cents per share, in first- quarter 2007.

Revenue climbed to $40.3 million this year, compared with $34.9 million in 2007.
