Article: Salmonella linked to Peter Pan, Great Value peanut butter

If your favorite peanut butter brand is Peter Pan or Great Value, check your kitchen shelves -- a salmonella outbreak linked to those two brands has sickened 288 people in 39 states -- possibly including two in Connecticut -- since August.

Supermarkets and other food stores swept Peter Pan varieties from their shelves Thursday after ConAgra Foods Inc. issued a recall and told consumers to either discard or return certain jars of Peter Pan and Great Value, a Wal-Mart brand.

Jars with a product code beginning "2111" are suspected in the outbreak. They originated in a plant in Sylvester, Ga.

Consumers may return the jars to the store where they were purchased and receive a refund or product ...
