Step back in time by making a visit to a Lincolnshire railway which recreates train travel as it was more than half-a-century ago.

The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, based at Ludborough, south of Grimsby, is the only standard gauge steam railway in Lincolnshire open to the public, and will be open again on Sunday.

The East Lincolnshire Railway ran between Boston and Grimsby, via Firsby, Willoughby and Louth, opening in 1848.

Sadly, the Louth to Grimsby section of the line closed in 1980. But enthusiasts are returning part of it to its former glory and extending the track steadily towards North Thoresby, where the station is to be recreated.
