She's hot, she's hip - and she's a cruise ship with a difference.
The 93,530-ton NCL Norwegian Gem is promoted as the hippest ship to
hit the high seas and you won't find me expressing a different
opinion.
I took the opportunity of checking out the vessel in Dover ahead
of its christening in New York just before Christmas and found it
far removed from traditional cruise ships.
Here is a ritzy and glitzy liner with a four-lane bowling alley
on board. It also has a climbing wall and a trendy nightclub complex
as Norwegian Cruise Lines hope to woo a younger audience.
The firm's Freestyle Cruising concept is all about offering a
less structured and more relaxed holiday than traditional cruising ...
